Bobby is a 12 year old, who just became a freshman in Placid high, a notorious boarding school. Everything seemed to be flying right for her until she runs into a member of the senior gang, by accident in the hallway. Before she is demolished she is saved by a member of the freshmen gang, Adaptation (a.k.a. Big Foot). She is soon introduced to his leader and the rest of the gang. Bobby takes a liking to the female leader, who goes by the name, Alpha Dawg. Bobby soon finds out that all of them are talented Breakers and they aim to cut the seniors down to size and take the title and respect given only to the best b-boys (Break-dancers) in their time, during the annual Break-tournament, a violent battle tournament specializing in break-dancing. She learns first hand, of how cruel the senior gang leader, Evil Twist, can be towards the freshmen and his own crew when she witnesses a bloody demolishing of a young freshmen and a senior in the middle of class. During most of the time before the tournament, Bobby learns from and helps the gang, and we watch to how eventually Bobby earns her own title and rank while facing her fears and many obstacles in the path, with the help of the freshmen break-dancers.
FRESHMEN GANG
Bobby- is the newb. She has the most intellectual mind of the group (to Brains dismay). She knows Adaptation has a crush on her but plays stupid whenever he advances. From the start she has a questionably crush on Alpha Dawg, and usually stays quiet when ever Alpha is in the room.
Alpha Dawg- is the black, 14 year-old break dancing genius. She is known to use spray paint cans when she break dances, so she can usually be seen wearing a customized surgeons mask. She is sort of quiet, but tends to sound angry whenever she talks business. She has a brother, who she nor any of her crew ever wants to talk about. She is a mystery to even her crew and hates talking about herself.
Adaptation- is the cocky, 14 year-old, break dancer with the huge feet. He has a crush on Bobby, and is forever complementing her and flirting with her. He is known to be able to break dance in many terrains, including mountains, tree branches, and ocean shores. His nose is always running, but he seems to still attract girls. His shaggy hair and skull cap prevents anyone from seeing his eyes (he says girls just wont be able to handle seeing his entire gorgeous face). He always manages to trip and fall down the school steps and blames the school for making them so long.
Shrimp mix- is the 13 year-old break dancer and the smallest member of the crew. He’s known for being creepy and for break dancing with pom poms. He’s rude to everyone except Alpha Dawg. Shrimp’s not the best or the most affective dancer, but fills the spot. Due to his small size, Bobby assumed he was younger than her, but is bluntly corrected by him.
Brain- is the only brain of all the gangs operations and game plans, until Bobby joins the team. He gets jealous of Bobby’s intellect and how she connects to the gang leader. He becomes the traitor and ruins most of their routines during the Break battles. During his time in the crew, he is closest to Adaptation, who he calls “Zues”.
SENIOR GANG
Evil twist- is the 18 year old leader of the senior gang, Recount. He hides his face with an American flag and wears an odd hat with ears similar to Mickey Mouse’s. He break-dances with blades hidden on his body. He was once the B-Boy King but lost it to a mysterious dancer. On the first day of his senior year, he came to school with a broken arm, leading all who respected him to doubt his capabilities. However, Twist remains the senior leader and keeps the title as the best break-dancing battler in the district. He has ties to Alpha Dawg in some way and seemingly respects her. He isn’t as respectful of his girlfriend, Bango, and tends to be cruel towards her. In fact, he’s cruel towards all of his crew. Even the school teachers fear his power.
